Points for 3800 Pro Stock Mini Trucks will start with 50 and will only drop down 1 point per position of finish all the way back to number of trucks at each pull
1). DQ’s will receive last place points and monies in their class. If more than one DQ’s per class points and monies will be divided equally.
2). A puller shall receive 10 show-up points when their competition vehicle arrives at a pull and registers with their clerks.
3). To be eligible for any points at any event, the competitor shall pay their entry fee and pass tech inspection. 4). In case of ties, points and monies will be distributed equally. Tie at end of season – most wins takes first place above other puller

1. PROTEST MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING TO AN OFFICIAL WITHIN 10 MINUTES AFTER CLASS ENDS. MUST BE DONE THAT NIGHT. 2. PROTESTOR MUST BE IN SAME CLASS AS THE PROTESTEE. THE PROTESTOR MUST BE ABLE TO BETTER HIMSELF OR HERSELF IN PRIZE BY THIS PROTEST. 3. PROTEST MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PROTEST FEE. PROTESTOR MUST PUT UP CASH OR CHECK FOR THE PROTEST FEE. 4. PROTESTOR CANNOT BE PRESENT DURING THE CHECK OF THE PTOTESTEE’S VEHICLE, AND CANNOT PARTICIPATE. 5. PERSON OR PERSONS (INCLUDING EITHER PARTY OF A PROTEST) CAUSING EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF TROUBLE DURING PROTEST PROCEDURES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. 6. ANY VISUAL PROTEST INSPECTION CONSISTING OF CHECKING HITCHES, WHEELBASE LENGTH, ANYTHING CONCERNING WEIGHT BOX, OR ANY OTHER INSPECTION THAT DETERMINES THE PROTESTEE HAS A RULE VIOLATION WITH HIS OR HER VEHICLE WILL CAUSE THE PROTESTEE TO LOSE ALL THE POINTS FOR THAT PULL, THEY CAN NOT PULL AT THE NEXT PULL, AND WILL NOT QUALIFY FOR POINTS, AT THE PULL, FOLLOWING SET OUT PULL. 10. THE PROTEST COMMITTEE OR TECH MAN HAVE THE RIGHT TO OPEN THE VEHICLE HOOD OR INSPECT THE VEHICLE OR ANY PARTICIPATING PERSON AT ANY TIME IN PRESENCE OF OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. 11. PROTESTEE (OWNER OF THE VEHICLE) IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TEAR DOWN OF HIS OR HER VEHICLE.
RULES UPDATE 2008
OPERATION OF CONTEST 1.) All pullers must be in the staging area when their class starts 2). A competitor will have a maximum of three (3) minutes to report to the starting line after the sled is ready 3.) All pulls must start with a tight chain 4). All pulls must start with the sled and pulling vehicle inside the boundary lines 5.) All pulling vehicles will come into the competition area under their own power. Tow starting WILL be allowed at the track official’s discretion
TEST PULLER 1. 6200lb 4 WD: The test puller may take the first pull or drop 6 positions after the sled is at the Official setting for the class 2. 3800lb Pro Stock Mini Truck: The test puller will have the option of accepting the pull or coming back 6 positions after the sled setting is deemed official 3. All other classes: The test puller to hook to the sled in a class will be considered the test puller and have the following options: A] Accept the pull B] Drop the pull and pull again immediately C] Drop the pull and come back in sixth or last position D] Any puller following a sled adjustment at the start of a pulling class be considered a test puller 4. All decisions on re-pulls must be made before the competitor and pulling vehicle leaves the track area. Track area is defined as 50 feet in any direction from the pulling surface 5. Contest Malfunction: A] In the event of a contest malfunction the affected puller and/or pullers will be allowed to re-pull immediately or in last position, all decisions on re-pulls will be at the presiding track official’s discretion 6. Loss or failure of safety equipment to function while the pulling vehicle is under the green flag will result in disqualification 7. Pulling vehicle will be disqualified if the pulling vehicle touches or goes over the boundary lines under the green flag, if the pulling vehicle passes the established full pull line and crosses the boundary line the pull will be considered legal 8. SOMEONE CAPABLE OF OPERATION AND CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE MUST BE SEATED IN VEHICLE ALL TIMES WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING OR BEING STARTED. ENGINES RUNNING WITH NO ONE IN THE SEAT WILL BE CAUSE FOR DISQUALIFICATION 9. Pullers will be given 2 attempts to start the sled. A puller who does not make a pull past 75 feet will be given a second attempt, if the puller makes an attempt to stop before the sled reaches the 75 feet marker a second attempt will be given at the starting flagman’s discretion 10. A puller who experiences mechanical problems and cannot make the scheduled hook may request a mechanical drop, if the request is granted by the presiding track official the puller will be allowed to pull at last position. 3800 Pro Stock Mini Trucks and 6200 4 WD Trucks will be dropped to 6th position. 3800 Pro Stock Mini Trucks will be allowed only one (1) mechanical drop per vehicle per year 11. Any disqualification on a first attempt bars a second attempt 12. Pull Offs: A] A pull-off will be run in the same order as the official class. There will be no dropping positions in a pull-off B] All pullers will be given two (2) attempts to pass the 75 feet marker in a pull- off C] If a contest malfunction occurs in a pull-off situation the affected puller or pullers will be allowed to drop to last position D] If a pull-off is not run on the same sled, the same track, or the same day the first puller will be treated as a test puller E] If a puller disqualifies for any reason in a pull-off they will be given last place in the pull-off 13. Rain: Any class not completed for any reason will be treated as a rain out 14. If 2/3 of a class is declared official the class will receive points and monies as the class finished, any remaining points and monies will be split equally among the competitors that did not run 15. If less than 2/3 of the class is complete all points and monies will be divided equally among the competitors in that class 16. A session of pulling will be considered complete if ½ of the ORVTPA classes are run 17. The promoter and ORVTPA officials will decide if and when a rain-out occurs
A loss of excessive liquid while under the green flag will be cause for disqualification. All pullers are to be careful in pit areas and on/or off track (watch spectators and/or families of pullers). Any un-sportsmanlike conduct and/or language on track or in pits is un-acceptable, and will not be tolerated. A grievance committee will be set up to handle problems if they arise.
GENERAL CLUB RULES FOR ALL CLASSES
1} ORVTPA Reserves the right to interpret any and all rules as they see fit. New rules may be adopted during a pulling season to promote safety or the benefit of the sport. 2} All pullers are to be careful in pit areas and on/or off track (watch spectators and/or families of pullers). Any un-sportsman conduct and/or language on track or in pits is un-acceptable, and will not be tolerated. A grievance committee will be set up to handle problems if they arise. 3} Someone capable of operation and controlling the vehicle must be seated in vehicle at all time when engine is running or being started. Engines running with no one in the seat will be cause for disqualification. 4} When suspended for cheating you are not allowed on track during your suspension for any reason at all. 5} Pulling vehicle touches line under green flat you will be disqualified. a) Out of bounds after 300’ (or full pull) mark – legal pull. 6} Three (3) minute limit to hook to sled
Engines 1} All turbo charged engines will use 2 3/8 bolts mounted inside the exhaust pipe. The bolts will be mounted perpendicular to prevent turbo charger parts going out the exhaust pipe. 2} All automotive engines must have harmonic balancer corer (360 degrees). Must have front strap 3} All vehicles with engine powered fan must have shrouded 4} All pulling vehicles must have a starter interrupter switch, which will allow starting of vehicle only in neutral on manual transmissions and park on automatic transmissions. Switches must be mounted on the shift lever. 5} All V-8 engines must have engine side shields. Shields must run completed length of block casting. Must be from bottom of head to top of frames and must be mounted to frame. 6} All electric fuel pumps on spark ignition engines must be grounded when kill switch is pulled. 7} Air shut-offs on diesel engines will be spring loaded to a closed position. Butterflies inside the air intake pipe will not be accepted. 7-a) All super farm and pro farm tractors will be required to use a cable restraint system. One 3/8-diameter cable will be used to restrain the cylinder head. The cable will surround the engine and be mounted between the first and second cylinders. The cable will pass through the exhaust port area. The cable will use two cable clamps and will have 4 to 6 inches of slack. 8} Diesel engines will use a manual 3 way dump valve installed ahead of injection pump, must operated from the dash panel INTERCOOLERSAll intercooler/after cooler assemblies must be shielded on all side by .060 steel or aluminum
DISCONNECT SWITCH A disconnect switch will be installed to shut off all electric current from the battery. Switch must be operated from outside the vehicle and be mounted in the front of vehicle to provide easy access from the ground KILL SWITCHESKill switches will be mounted a max of 48 inches above hook point and within 6 inches of center of pulling vehicle. Kill switches ring will be 2 inches minimum diameter and must be steel.
STABILIZER BARS: Tractors * Stabilizer bars will extend a minimum of 32 inches behind the centerline of the rear axle * Stabilizer bars will be a maximum of 10 inches off the ground and have a 5-inch square pad. * A vertical brace will extend a minimum of 24 inches upward from the pad and a horizontal brace will connect the Stabilizer bars * Bars must be capable of supporting the vehicle weighted for the heaviest class it will compete in vertical brace to the stabilizer bar assembly * No part of the hitch may be connected to the stabilizer bar assembly 2WD Trucks All 2wd trucks will use stabilizer bars. The stabilizer bars will extend a minimum of 2 inches behind the rear tire and be a maximum of 10 inches off the ground with a 5 inch square pad Rolling wheels or moving devices of any kind will not be accepted on any stabilizer bar in any class
FIREWALLS * 2WD trucks will be required to use a complete firewall. The firewall will be the full width of the driver’s compartment and go from the dash panel to the floorboard. The firewall will be made of a minimum of .060 materials. Acceptable materials are lexan, steel, or aluminum * All trucks will be required to pull with the hood on completely covering the engine compartment
BLOW BY TUBES All blow by tubes must exit in front of the of the rear tires of the pulling vehicle in the track of the tire
CLUTCHES & BELL HOUSINGS* All Pulling Vehicles equipped with an automotive type engine using a clutch/flywheel assembly will be required to use a Billet Flywheel. Flywheel will be made of steel or aluminum and be SFI approved. Absolutely no cast iron allowed. All clutch assemblies will be steel and be SFI approved. No cast iron. *All vehicles using automotive type engines and using an automatic transmission will use a SFI approved flex plate. *All clutches in automotive applications will use a one piece hydro form bell housing type A, B, or C will be acceptable. No two piece bell housings. * No welding, chemical milling, or cutting permitted on bell housings. * Type C bell housings will be shielded around clutch release fork opening. Shield will be 3/8 steel on top and sides and be securely mounted to the vehicle frame. Shield may not be bolted or welded to bell housing. * All vehicles using a clutch/bell housing assembly will use a SFI or NHRA approved block saver plate. * Bell housing will be mounted with 8 (3/8 grade 8 bolts) in top half of bell housing 4 bolts will hold the bell housing to back of block and 4 bolts will hold bell housing to saver plate. The 4 bolts holding bell housing to block plate will be between he bolts holding bell housing to block. There will be a minimum of 4 ½ inch bolts securing bell housing to transmission. All tractors classes will have SFI approved clutch/flywheel assembly. No cast iron. All tractors will use a six buckle SFI approved blanket around the transmission housing blanket will be 20 ply ballistic nylon or Kevlar equivalent
* Steel flywheel and safety bell housings and block saver plate * ¼” steel shield 360 degrees around the engine balancer 2” wide * Engines driven cool fans shielded 360 degrees around fan * Shields for side of block from base of head to top frame Shields around u-joints and driveline every 3 feet; 6” long’ 2” maximum spacing around u-joint; shield thickness 3/8” aluminum, 5/16” steel. All vehicles must have drive shaft loops every three (3) feet. Must be round 1/8” (inch) thick. All vehicles must have universal joint covers (360 degrees). 6” (inches) long centered on joint must be round. TIE BARSSafety tie bars will be required in all tractor classes. Tie bars will be from frame rail to rear axle housing and be capable of supporting the tractor with all bolts removed from transmission housing. HITCHESAll hitches will be minimum 3 ½ inches long x minimum 3 inches wide at the hook point, lateral thickness of hitch will be max 1 ½ inch minimum 1 inch cross-sectional thickness.
KILL SWITCHESKill switches will be mounted a max of 48 inches above hook point and within 6 inches of center of pulling vehicle. Kill switches ring will be 2 inches minimum diameter and must be steel.
PULL-OFFSPull-off will be run in order of the class pulled. No dropping of positions in a pull-off situation. FIRE SUITSAll Classes; Complete fire suit and fireproof gloves is required in all classes. Must meet SFI Spec 3.3c. No tennis shoes are to be worn must have good work shoes or fire shoes. Driver Protection All drivers will be required to use an SFI approved 3.3 neck collar HELMETSAll competitors will wear a full-face helmet. Snell 2005 rating or better
1. All vehicles must have working brakes. 2. All pulling vehicles must be equipped with a seat belt. 3. Any driver who is out of his or her seat during the pull will be DISQUALIFIED. 4. All vehicles must have a working fire extinguisher. 5. Driver’s seat must be directly behind the steering wheel. 6. No clutching of the truck will be allowed during the pull. DRIVELINE SHIELDINGAll remaining exposed drive shafts will be shielded 360 degrees by 3/8 inches aluminum or 5/16-inch steel. Drive shaft must be completely covered, minimum ¼ inch visible at either end.
FUEL TESTING Beginning with the 2007-pulling season ORVTPA will be testing fuel in all pulling classes. Fuel tests will be performed to determine the legality of any and all fuels used by competitor/ members of ORVTPA. The methods fuels will be tested by will be; 1} oxygen sensor, 2) hydrometer, and 3) dielectric meter. Fuel testing may be done for any class at any time.
OXYGEN SENSING Oxygen sensing will be done at random and will be performed immediately at the end of a competitors pull before the pulling vehicle leaves the track area.
HYDROMETER A hydrometer may be used to check the specific gravity of any fuel at any time.
DIELECTRIC TESTING The dielectric meter will be used to test the legality of diesel fuel and gasoline.
Diesel Fuel Diesel fuel will have a maximum dielectric constant of 4.9 and a minimum of 2.1
Gasoline Gasoline will have a maximum dielectric constant of 2.1 and a minimum of –1
Penalties For Illegal Fuel Any competitor found using illegal fuel would be suspended for 1 calendar year plus 1 day
Dielectric Variance Any competitor found with diesel with a dielectric reading of 5.0 to 5.4 or a gasoline reading 2.2 to 2.6 will be disqualified for the pulling session with loss of ALL points and monies earned for that session, this variance may be used once per competitor all subsequent fuel infractions will result in a 1 calendar year suspension plus 1 day
No oxygen carriers or combustion accelerators allowed
FOR TRUCKS:
Engine 1} 600 cubic inch maximum displacement. A one percent tolerance will be allowed for normal engine wear. 2} Vehicle must use a cast iron engine block. 3} Engine must be naturally aspirated. 4} One 4 barrel carburetor allowed. Carburetor must be a one-piece body (no split carburetors) 5} One 4 barrel carburetor automotive type intake manifold. (No sheet metal or tunnel-ram intake manifolds) Frame 1} Custom built frames are allowed, if tubing is used in frame construction it is to be 4 sided tubing only. Wedge frames will be accepted. 2} Maximum length will be 15 feet 4 inches measured from the center of the rear axle to the front of the vehicle excluding the tow hook 3) Any size rear differential allowed. Planetary rear differentials will NOT be accepted Hitch 1} Hitch may be no SHORTER than 42 inches measured from the center of the rear axle to the hook point. 2} Maximum hitch height is 30 inches 3} Hitch must be stationary in all directions Body 1} Fiberglass is allowed for use in all body components and complete truck bodies. 2} No T-bucket type bodies will be accepted. 3} All trucks will be required to pull with the hood on completely covering the engine compartment. 4} All trucks will be required to use a complete firewall. The firewall will be the complete width of the driver’s compartment and go from the dash panel to the floorboard. The firewall will be constructed of .060 material, acceptable materials are Lexan, steel, or aluminum. 5} All truck beds must be covered. Transmissions 1} One OEM transmission allowed, aftermarket or custom cut gears will NOT be accepted Tires 1} All tires will be D.O.T. approved. 2} Maximum tire size is 35x 12.50 3} Maximum rim width is 12 inches Fuel 1} Acceptable fuels are gasoline and methanol 2} No oxygen carriers or combustion accelerators permitted Miscellaneous All trucks will be checked for cubic inch displacement and the transmission will be inspected prior to competing. Engines and transmissions must be sealed before competition.
Rules for this class are locked in through 2010
Engine 1} 470 cubic inch maximum displacement. 2} Engine must be naturally aspirated 3} Engine block and cylinder heads will be cast iron 4} Open headers allowed, exhaust will exit straight back or vertically through the hood. (Vertical is defined as being within 10 degrees of plumb) 5} Rear of engine block can be no further forward than 12 inches measured from the center of the front axle tube. 6} No tunnel ram or fabricated intake manifolds allowed 7} One carburetor only 8} No carburetor spacer larger than 1 ½ inch thick measured from top of intake to bottom of carburetor. Fuel 1} Gasoline only 2} Fuel not to exceed 118 octane 3} No oxygen carriers or combustion accelerators allowed
Frame 1} Must be OEM steel frame no heavier than 1 ton 2} No blocks or traction bars allowed on front axle 3} Rear traction bars may be no further forward than 80 inches measured from the center of the rear axle. 4} Rear spring blocks allowed (may be welded, springs optional) 5} Must use OEM transfer case and transmission 6} Stock wheelbase no longer than 134 inches 7} No batteries or fuel tanks may be mounted inside the cab.
